What is Household Hazardous Waste and where can I get rid of it safely?
A hazardous product is one whose improper disposal or storage poses a threat to health or the environment. This includes products that are flammable, corrosive, reactive, or toxic. Look for label words such as warning, danger, flammable, combustible, corrosive, or poison. The best way to manage a hazardous substance is to use it up for its intended purpose. If unable to do so, please contact the Solid Waste Officer or go to http://www.co.faribault.mn.us/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=14&Itemid=31 for a collection schedule, further information on proper disposal, and the Household Hazardous Waste Reuse Program.
